Only a few weeks to go and so we are delighted to share our day-by-day breakdown of the artists and attractions across the weekend. Something for this year festival-goers to get truly excited about
It takes all sorts of people to prepare and manage an event of this scale and experience isn't always the most important thing, nor is youth. We are always in need of people who are keen to get involved creatively or gain experience in helping us shape our festival.
Each year we are overwhelmed by the number of music applications we receive and the wealth of talent is astounding. Last years winners Paper Dogs tore up the main stage at the festival. Who will follow in their footsteps for 2017?
So here it is, our second line-up announcement featuring a host of new bands and DJs alongside a diverse range of performances, partnerships, and attractions with something to appeal to every taste.
Borne out of their own sons' musical pursuits at young ages, Sunflowerfest organisers, husband and wife, Michael and Vanessa Magowan have worked tirelessly over the past years to develop the leading family-friendly force in the local music and arts scene. Each year Sunflowerfest fosters a family-friendly spirit of community, co-creation and inclusivity which will be seen on Tubby's farm, 28th-30th July...

We are delighted to announce another surprise for festival-goers with a unique partnership with award-winning burrito bar Boojum. Credited with introducing Mexican street food to the Northern Ireland mainstream, Boojum’s iconic burritos will be a welcome addition to the buzzing festival atmosphere this year as the brand rolls in their food truck, The Boojmobile, and rolls out a large stretch marquee to be the hub of our unparalleled street-food-village experience.
Every year, at most festivals world-wide, a lot of stuff gets left behind. To be expected? Sure. We have loads of initiaves dealing with our part. But could we do better? You wouldn't believe how many people are ok with spending fifty quid on a tent, bringing it to a festival and going through the pain of setting it up, with the intention of leaving it behind. Its almost a tradition! Its a disposable world. Solution: A tent that's already pitched when you get to the festival, costs about fifty quid and you don't have to take it home again. Oh... and its cardboard so way more environmentally conscious than the 'traditional' method.
We’ve kept you festival-goers on your toes, but now we’re proud to bring you the first news of what to expect from this year’s Sunflowerfest (have we ever been ones to disappoint?). Some big names and some deserving artists have made it into the first wave of the lineup for this years festival and we have a few other surprises in store for you this year as well!
Sunflowerfest in association with NI Science Festival are very proud to announce our second presententation Greg Wilson at the Black Box in Belfast as part of our launch of Sunflowerfest 2017 - A Parallel Universe.
