Roisin El Cherif
Irish/Palestinian, Roisin El Cherif is a new and very credible singer- songwriter on the music scene. After spending years writing songs and perfecting her craft, 2016 saw Roisin take to the stage for the first time. With a background in TV/Film Production to her distinct credit, she wrote, co-directed and produced the debut video of her song 'Kerosene', the first single. Roisin has played at the Ruby Sessions, Whelans, the Grand Social, the Globe and the Roisin Dubh in Galway for Mna Mna night and Citog showcase. Roisin had a very busy last summer with performances at Body and Soul and was selected out of 400 submissions to play the Unsigned Act at Sea Sessions. She played at Electric Picnic, Canalaphonic and Battle for the Lake - Achill.
Roisin finished 2016 with live performances in Whelan's Midnight Hour on and supported Ham Sandwich in Galway's Roisin Dubh in December.
This year Roisin was featured in HotPress as one of the Up and Coming Artists to look out for in 2017. Roisin has also been personally selected by Ken Callait to take part in a songwriting workshop in LA during March. Roisin's 'Kerosene' also made it to the semi finals of the International Songwriting Competition held in Nashville. Roisin has been working extensively on the upcoming EP which will come out with 3 music videos as a body of art. The release is set for April. An Irish tour will take place with dates to be confirmed.
