Position: Assistant to Festival Co-ordinator Job

Location: Belfast and Hillsborough

Hours: 30 hours per week for 6 months/26 weeks

Wage: £7.05 per hour

Job specification: This is a wide and varied role with a diverse range of duties working directly with the Sunflowerfest core team. The successful candidate will gain experience in all aspects of managing and producing a successful music and arts festival. Working directly alongside the festival coordinator, your roles will include:


  • Social media strategy and development and day-to-day management of all our digital channels and platforms
  • Working closely with our local specialist PR company and liaising with Sunflowerfest team leaders to efficiently develop and deliver press and social media content
  • Continuous development and management of our email platform including delivering regular email content and list management.

Site Production

  • Assist the Site Team in ensuring that every aspect of the festival is delivered in a safe and secure manner
  • Assist with the coordination of essential health and safety requirements across the whole site – with specific focus on the festival's role as a family-friendly event
  • Assist the Site Team in developing the SFF 2017 Theme 'A Parallel Universe' across all aspects of the festival
  • Assist in the design and development of each stage and area as well as on-site installations, area themes and decor
  • Liaise with Digital Creative team where necessary to help facilitate their needs in respect to site and theme development


  • Assist Artist Liaison Manager throughout the duration of the festival to enable the festival to meet artist and collaborators' needs
  • Assist Festival Coordinator and area mangers with varying admin duties pre and post event including managing site access and accreditation across the whole festival, post event analysis, funding applications and reports, post-event surveys etc


  • The ideal candidate will have strong IT skills. Social media and marketing experience will be advantageous but not essential. Adobe suite experience will be a bonus
  • Applicant must be 18 – 24
  • The applicant must have at the time of applying for the internship, a qualification of level 4 and above (this is an HNC or above)
  • The applicant should be unemployed or working in an unrelated role
